Transforming Pain

20 lead wrapped prints mounted on tiles with glass and plinth. (2019)

This project explores how photography can be used as a therapeutic tool and evaluated whether taking images can change the way an event is remembered over time. The images featured in this piece documents places that have become symbolic to me over the years. The process of taking these images, turning them into heavy, precious objects, allows me to gain control over my emotional responses and turn something metaphysical into something tangible and visible. They are the physical embodiment of the mental process of understanding and transforming pain.
